Just dug mine out and it's milky white. Should it be this colour, or has mine gone off?

Mine is thin also - it has to be as it works by capillary action.

Your picture confused me Rick. As your blob appears rounded, whereas my stuff is that thin it would just lie flat. A bit of an optical illusion on my part methinks.

Isn’t it supposed to be ‘thinner’ than water, so that it gets drawn further into cracks than water?

It is on a piece of polythene so it has just beaded.
I think that the red bottle is just the latest product. It mentions Bronopol in its makeup on the red bottle but not on the blue one. My blue one is years old.
