I need recomendations for a mechanic to change core plugs on my VW LT.

Hi guys,
I am a newbie to the forum and
I hope it is alright to post this
My LT has been sat at a garage here on the Isle of Wight for over a year waiting for a job to be done, unfortunately the owner/mech is very ill now and has chopped the bigger jobs. All that is wrong, is that a core plug popped out and I lost all my water. I have a full set to replace all of them...but what hassle
I had got as far as nearly removing the upper manifold, only to find the two lower hex bolts needed an extraction tool...I had no problem with a couple of other bolts with the tool, but getting to the bottom two was obstructed by the slim gap between the bottom manifold and upper one. So I couldn't get the angle for the extractor tool to go onto the bolt...it would require (as far as I could work out) dropping the exhaust downpipe, and removing the bottom manifold, and removing the head along with it, then I think access to the two bolts would be possible. It was agreed that this would be 'a' way to go about it, as there is an oil leak anyway, and we could replace the gasket at the same time.
For the mech to proceed he asked me to put everything back together so he knew where they went when he put it back together, which I did.
I have all the parts, and ready to go.
The last I heard that Bob at Cowes was unwell, and on visiting his unit, I discovered it was a low unit...my job no doubt could be done outside, but point being, it's a high top...not ultra high though.
Andy at Merstone said it's a big job, but he's so busy with smaller jobs. Like with many mechanics.
Can someone please advise on any of the things I have mentioned, or suggest a mechanic who may have the space and time.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice.
Regards Rob.
Post E D I T...I put this into the general group, I did upload from my phone, so may be I didn't, and it has gone into the technical group...unless a moderator has switched it over ?
Anyway, apart from that, I thought this was an I.O.W group, but may be there are some Islanders on here that can help me with a mechanic, or an experienced diy man can give me a hand
Happy touring
