Heater box/vent

Not been getting any heat through to windscreen vents in my Aircooled I’ve just bought when I’ve looked behind dash I can see the vent box has no front on it ???? See picture
Is it a two part piece or has an idiot cut the front out for some mad reason - either way where might I get a new one ??
