Air Filter Box Pipes

New T25 owner and newbie question alert so apologies in advance.

I have just bought a 1987 1.9DG with the attached air filter set up. Apologies for the bad photo its the only one I have at the moment.

Image

I was trying to establish what all the pipes do especially the one marked with the red arrow, this has split and I need to know where I can buy a replacement I have tried all of the usual places (Brickwerks, JK & Heritage) but can't find anything that looks like it, it seems to connect to a void in the corner (along with a vacuum pipe from the top of the air box) that is sealed off so not sure what it does or what its called, I assume it's for hot air intake or something???

And also the two with blue arrows they are in bad shape and just dangle out of the bottom of the van and also come from the same corner?

Any help gratefully received on what they all do and if needed etc... and sorry again if these are really simple questions and my terminologies are wrong.

Thanks
Paul

the exhaust pipe from number 1 cylinder (front right) should look like this one on Brickwerks link, but the outer shield is often rusted away

and the two dangling pipes attach to the exhust shield, providing preheated air into the air intake when required - the whole set up is non-essential, it helps with warm up when it is very cold, ie hard winter, which isn't often an issue in most of the UK most winters

the warm air hoses are this yet another brickwerks link

Thanks Aidan,

That is really helpful and I guess can be removed as non essential which is why I'm guessing you don't see them very often in other engine pictures?

Any thoughts on the pipe with the red arrow, this is split and needs replacing, is this required or all part of the same heating solution?

Thanks
Paul

the red arrow one is may be 025 129 626
which is described as 65/70 x210mm so I'm guessing it has flexible couplings at the end that will slip over stubs that are 65-70mm diameter

I don't think it is available anymore but could be replaced with a silicon hose of right diameter shortened to the correct length, you don't want engine dirty air getting it it will pollute the air filter and shorten its life, pipe clips are AL70-90 jubilees if they need replacing

parts catalogue online at Etka online so you can look up parts yourself, or with your mechanic/garage of choice

Thanks again Aidan

I have taken the pipe off today and the part number is indeed the one you've provided.

Annoyingly it is different sizes each end 65 one and 70 the other end so will make finding a suitable replacement in silicon more difficult. :|

Thank you also for the parts link that is a new one for me so will be really useful for the future 👍

Cheers
