pilot bearing removal

Any ideas on how i can remove the pilot bearing from a 2.5i five cylinder engine.this is what it looks like .

internal bearing puller and slide hammer, though some people reckon to be able to get out with grease and 15mm rod, pack the grease in and hydraulic it out

You will probably find there is a special tool in the form of a bearing puller.
In days of old we used to use a piece of wooden dowel that was a fairly snug fit into the bearing. We used to pack the inside of the bearing with grease, then tap the dowel into the bearing.
This gave a hydraulic effect and the bearing would come out.
Used to work with solid brass bush but I can’t remember if it worked on roller bearings. Definitely worth a try.

An expanding anchor like an M8 Rawlbolt works fine.
