Embaressing admission

My underfloor throttle linkage seems to be without that neat little "codpiece" cover and feels - I can't work out how to access it visually, very vulnerable to the elements. Unless it was a later addition I have to assume a PO left it off - probably due to its poor accessibility.
Throttle a bit stiff and jerky so I have to sort it out - bad knee joints  . Any clues as to the best way to get at it and where to source another cover?
Shame on me for not spotting it missing over the many years of owneship  .

The plastic cover is only fitted to left hand drive models, there is more space that side. For access to the right side take the indicator lamp out to make things easier.

Strange that as Bentleys  and if I remember right Haynes, shows the cover in manual and Auto plus diezel illustrations with no mention of left or right hand drive. But I can see the logic as there is a massive chassis outrigger right under the pedal. Good tip re the indicator thanks. Best brush up on my keyhole surgery then.
:ok

The factory illustrations for parts are based on left hand drive.
