Hi All

I'm debating whether to leave any bare metal on the interior of my van, I like the VW Medium Blue paint and thought I may just be able to carpet ply panels and leave the rest.

Are there arguments for making sure it's fully carpeted?

I'd just do the panels, personally. There's a slight improvement in insulation if you go over the metal, but once you've covered the metal in spray glue there's no turning back as it never comes off cleanly.

Plus, if you carpet over the panels and the metal in one go, you can't take the panel back off to run wires/do rust repairs behind or whatever.

Thanks for the response cobblers.  Are there issues with light fitment etc?  My van came back from the garage with no interior lights fitted in the cab nor the rear area, I was told it needed trim to fit properly.
