Breather Hose Question

I seem to have a big lump in my hose (insert Carry On joke here), that is, on the pic below where the arrow is, there is a solid section about one and a half inches long, the rest of the hose you can easily squash. Could someone tell me please, is there something in this hose like a filter or something or will it be a blockage which I need to clear, there is evidence of oil around the breather tower base if that has anything to do with it. Thanks.

Sometimes they collapse, so there msybe something inserted there to prevent it. Worth taking off to check and clean, mine has no filter.

Thank you Tony, so it 'should' just be a plain clear hose then, like any other. Good point that it might have something inside to prevent collapsing.

I believe so, someone else may add to the post though. Also worth reading up on other posts regarding the operation of the oil tower and possible issues.

Simply replace the old squishy breather pipe with a nice silicon one that wont go soft , fit and forget
