Hi I've separated the auto transmission from the final drive but had to butcher the nuts and studs that hold them together, does anyone know where I can get the correct transmission housing studs from ,I keep drawing blanks and haven't got one to compare .many thanks jue

You could try contacting this fella as he can rebuild auto boxes.https://t2five.com/ Failing that maybe ask here https://www.thesamba.com/vw/ Very few people know about autos in this country. The yanks use autos more than we do.

I asked on the samba for you and got this reply.

"A standard 8mm x 1.25 pitch nut will work. I'd also add a wave washer under the nut. 4 total.

The original nuts from memory had a copper look to them, but I don't believe it is critical at this point to have the exact part. Here is the part number if you need it. N 011 008 22

E D I T: Sorry just reread your post. The studs are shouldered studs. Not sure that is necessary. Part number is N 900 044 02. They are 8mm thread x 1.25 pitch. They are 56mm long. If you can't find the actual studs, you can make studs from long bolts with a little patience."
