Are Diesel injection pumps interchangable?

Hi,

I'm in need of an injection pump change for my JX. Either looking at buying a recon'd one or paying for a reconditioning of my own is expensive, but obviously in the long run probably worth the money. However i'm skint.

I was told that any diesel injection pump would work by a garage, but it won't be ideal. My required part number is 068 130 107 TX and I have found a pump that is 068 130 107 AC and another that is 068 130 107 T i think and another which is just 068 130 107 .
Is it worth taking a punt on any of these or will it end up being a nightmare?

they may physically fit but they are matched the the requirement, turbo, injectors etc, its best to get you're original rebuilt, whats the problem with you're original to think it needs repair?

The pulley has a lot of play in it - causing timing belt wear. I'm told it's probably the bushings worn inside the injection pump

Are you saying that the pump pulley and shaft has visible play on it??

Yep. It rocks by quite a bit, even with the belt still on it

The suffix T is the same pump, TX just means it was a factory exchange unit
the others will be specific to their engine, may not have the LDA etc and may be valved internally to match different injectors
I'd get the T refurbished if possible unless it has just come off a good running engine, if stored they often tend not to be good when put back into use
