Need to upgrade the standard door mirrors with either the Landrover mod or the LT mod/truck mirtors (the ones that also attach to the top of the door as well) seen the videos but looking for a bit more guidance and if any seconds for sale and where, pref local to Portsmouth so i can collect.

Landrover ones are stupidly simple and a fraction of the price of the LT/Syncro Truck mirrors, Buy the brackets from rowlsey on here, or through Ebay. You'll have to paint the brackets when they turn up. I also tidied up the corners on mine and made them more rounded.
Just reuse the rubber gaskets that should be behind your old mirrors and put a bit of rubber or thin foam spacer on the lower T piece that sits against the doors when you mount them otherwise they rub against your paint.. ask me how I know that.

Thanks, been looking at both options but looking at cheapest, how much movement is there in the LR option you mentioned regarding paintwork rubbing.

Thanks looking good if i can get hold of some, how much is visibility improved, as existing ones are poor for both reversing and entering motorways from side roads etc.

Before I post a wanted ad for these, what makes the Landy ones more better than the standard fit.

I’m guessing it’s mainly the cost - Syncro mirrors are not cheap. But also the Landy mirror conversion doesn’t require any new holes to be drilled in the door.

Unlike the original, the Landy ones fold inwards flush to the body which I find really useful. Fold them back out and good to go without having to adjust them.

Sorry Tony, I didn't see your reply..
I'll get a picture tomorrow to show you to show the paint wear. You can only see it if you remove the mirror, it can be mitagated with any kinda of sticky backed rubber or even closed cell insulation like I've done.

FYI - that's the same with the Syncro mirrors.

Turns out it was just the paint came off the arm rather than rubbing through the vans paint.
I put a smidge of loctite on those Allen head bolts just so they don't have a chance to work loose.
I am still using the rubber gasket from the stock mirrors but thats not in the pictures.

Thanks for posting the images and information, I can see why you opted for the conversion. Did you buy yours separately, thst is adaptors from one seller and the mirrors from another, I am a bit wary of getting one or even both wrong.
