So I have finally got my carb it’s H prefix so I know it’s a later one for my1.9dg 1986
Split it in two and cleaned it in a ultrasonic tank followed James askers brill YouTube bits
When he got to the part of testing and measuring how much fuel is squirted on full throttle mine is very low I know he shows how to adjust cam but mine squirts a lot of fuel from a small hole back into the float chamber This is the upper of the small holes in the chamber directly were the acc pump is
More fuel comes out here than the squirt into the choke What’s up

Nowt's up. It's supposed to do that. Adjust the preload cam as per the video. It'll be reet.

Thanks for that I did adjust the cam still more going in bowl now waiting on rebuild kit from Brickwerks
Think the diaphragm has gone a bit hard no history of carb

Got and fitted the rebuild kit put the carb on had to bodge some of the plumbing because of the change
On to the wiring I have two wires coming out of the black box one red one black the red is thicker
The red ends with two connectors with black wire
The black ends with two connectors also black wire

The thick red i connected to the manifold heater with its other connector to the choke
The black I connected one to the cut off valve and the other to the carb heater
Is this correct as van started first turn of the key and reverse up with no flat spot

Thanks Andrew such a relief to get something right now onto the next problem the BOD and red light
Even when cold my pressure gauge shows 3bar but the light flashes and BOD sounds

The dash isn't seeing a signal from the front (high pressure) oil switch. Could be switch, wiring, double connector near thermostat housing, loom, dash connection.

So back to brickwerks ordered new switch will be checking the wire aswell
