Swapping Alternator Pully - How to remove them?

Hi Guys,

So thanks to Aidan my noise issues were diagnosed as the alternator screeching, on its way out and glad I got the warning!

I picked up a new one from Just Kampers but the pully extends way too far out.

So I get that I need to swap these around, but how do I remove them given they spin? Do I need a specific tool?

IIRC just put pulley in vice and loosen nut with spanner/socket ( look at thread end for correct rotation ) . Put piece of hard wood over thread end and just tap out alternator, being careful not to drop it.
In the shaft sits a key that the pulleys slot slides over for fixture during rotation. Hopefully your old pulley will fit the new shaft and key.

Cheers Surf!

Didn't have a vice, had to use a pair grips and my knee but got them off and she's purring like a cat!
