Hi all

Wondering what's the max current for the alternator on my 1989 1.6TD JX Westfalia California poptop van with 5 speed gearbox. 

I'm installing Renogy DC-DC 50A MPPT Charger. It will charge 120ah LiFePO4 battery supplying power to diesel heater, fridge and lights for prolonged off-grid use. I also have 2 flexible solar panels, 1 large and 1 small, to trickle charge battery. The Renogy will manage all this.

originally largest current alternator fitted to TD was a 90amp 068 903 031 R or RX

For users that needed more power, such as the versions for ambulance / fire service use, then there was also an option for dual alternators.

90A is the largest fitted, but alternator output is measured at its normal working temperature, when it is cold it can supply more around 100A
