Hi,

On my 81 van the stop buffer (251 711 133B) has gone (probably years ago). These are nolonger available, so I was going to make one from nylon sheet material. Does anyone know how thick the buffer should be (excluding the 3 mounting pins?

For reference the buffer mounts on the side of the housing directly underneath the floor below the gear stick.

Thanks, not sure ABS is tough enough. I have a tougher material than ABS that I could use to print the part, but think Nylon would be the best material. Nylon is difficult to print as it warps. Again, I need to know how thick the part should be.  But thanks for the suggestion:)

there was another post about this in the last couple of years, worth using search to see if you can find it

Thanks Aidan, one of the posts has a useful picture which shows the part. It looks to be a maximum of 3mm thick - may be less. I'll experiment with different thickness material - 3mm, 2mm.

Do you have the 3D printer file? I could do with the same and I’ve a cr-10 printer??

I don't have a file but it's a very simple part - I'll produce a 3D sketch and upload to Thingiverse once I've worked out what thickness it should be. I'll update this post when done.

Its just a bit of PU sheet with double sided tape on the back that stops the lever clanking on the tin box as you go into 3rd and 4th. The two tags stop it creeping and the thickness isn't critical. Personally I'd change to the later gear selector arrangement and the 14mm lever.

In the write up he suggests his research confirmed it should be 3.15mm thick.
