Manged to get my Aircooled running, went fie a spin round the block and it judders really bad in first and second gear ,i had to set off in 3rd ,any ideas ?

Does it judder whilst driving in first and second, or just as releasing the clutch, when it's slipping a little? 

Loose drive shafts/CV joints, worth a check just in case.
