Anyone out there with a Danbury pop top with gas strut lift , either original gas struts lift or a Auto roof which now has gas struts , mine was a auto roof but motor etc was long gone when I got it , I’m after pics of the gas strut position and length and force of the struts , I’ve had my roof off while restoring and need some info to get the thing back to the correct height etc
Thanks if anyone can help I know they are pretty rare these days , had a search though previous posts but not much info

Hi I’ve got a Danbury side opening van, I’ve just put new struts etc on. I’ll take the cover off at the weekend and take some pictures. I’ll also check what struts I’ve got and let you know. If your local you could pop in and take a look, I’m in Essex

Hi. I'm following this thread as I have one of these Danbury roofs too. I've only come to realise in the last couple of weeks that once upon a time it would have been powered! It explains the weird ratchetted bit at the back.
My canvass is original and still in ok condition but there is on one gas struts left which has long since given up the ghost. I use a good shoulder press and a length of 2x4 to open it and keep it up at the moment but will be looking to replace all the gas struts this year.
Thanks Prof Plum for the pics - very helpful
I'll take some photos when it's not covered in snow...
