Interior Lighting Questions

So, the exterior of the van is all complete, and is running nice.
Now it is time to do the interior.

I have a local craftsman that does interiors, but just the fabric and headlining etc.
What I really ned is some ideas for the internal electrics before I commit, hand the van over, then look to unpick it to install good lighting and power.

It would be greatly appreciated if I could get a few good lighting and power socket solutions to consider installing before I progress to the big finale.

Thanks in advance.

I cant offer you any ideas for internal illumination. Not my scene. But hate to see a post go unanswered, Smiffo.
Surely an internet search will help?

Hi smiffo, I went to a couple of caravan shops to see what was used these days.
Take a note of lights and look on internet fleabay, amazon etc.
IIRC the led lights ( strip/spot etc) for house cabinets/kitchens have to have reducers from 240v to 12v. Look in hardware stores and check labels to see if it says 240v to 12v on the reducer then just detach that bit.
Don't forget to put a fuse at less voltage than what the cable can carry.
Best of luck

Thanks both.

I've gone for 4 standard VWt3 interior lights, ( Two above cab doors, Two in the rear ) and still looking for a brighter LED version to go in the middle somewhere.
Will look to fuse correctly too.

With the caveat that my set up is a bit of a hedge podge updating/replacing po’s home made wiring, I’ve found some really useful guidance and so on here:

This was also useful albeit it more for when updating battery/alternator/starter wiring:

If you are any good with crimping wires to terminals, spade connectors etc, then you’ll be fine fitting it yourself. Loads of information online. Just need to find a wiring diagram and get the correct wire thickness. If it’s just LED lights and a charging point then definitely have a go yourself. Only part that was a little more complicated for me was the split charge system. I had a bit of help with that.
