Hi all,
Had my van standing for a while and now when I reconnect my battery, the fan instantly goes on and doesn't seem to want to shut off.
Blown fuse?
Cheers,
James

It wouldn't work at all if it was a blown fuse.

I would check the wiring at the radiator for corroded wires making a cross connection.

I think it would probably be the "X" or relief relay sticking closed.
On the early vans, probably numbered 18 or 24 on the top.
If the rad fan - consider a faulty thermal switch or damaged wiring too.

If rad fan, pull the plug off the fan switch and if the fan stops, the switch is your problem.

Why didn't I think of that.?
So there are your options.
Unplug the fan switch.
Or
Unplug the Relief Relay.
And then look for damaged wiring, earth connectors.
It isn't one of those crazy causes, like the high beam switch is on?

I have heard of that somewhere before...
