My 7 yr old noname (Electric Power branded) starter battery died. Does not take a charge, dead cell or something, it needs to be changed.
I have an older Exide EA722 as a "leisure" under the front seat.

First I was thinking about buying a new Exide, put the old to the engine bay and use the new as the "leisure". But I have found some small EFB start-stop batteries that would fit. Same dimensions, but only 65Ah capacity.

Is it worth to buy an EFB as a leisure, or stick to the original plan? Or just buy a noname starter again? However the noname is just £14 cheaper than the Exide.

Any other advice?

I used a normal battery as a leisure battery because I had it has a spare, after more research realised that a proper leisure battery is more suited and effective as it can recover when low on voltage whereas a standard battery if allowed to degrade to far over time does not recover.

I had a proper Banner Energy Bull leisure battery before but it died on the first long trip as it was charged for too long which led to dried plates. It would need a DC to DC charger to avoid overcharging. And also to I had to remove the lid of the underseat battery box to fit it and I did not like that.
Unfortunately the Alpha and other low profile leisure batteries are not available here.
At the time the Exide seemed to be the best choice.
The Exide works OK as a leisure with my needs (lights + heater for one night)
I was wondering if anybody have used start-stop EFB batteries as a leisure? Are they better to use as leisure even with lower capacity?
