Hi. I will need to make a r&r bed platform plinth over the engine bay cover so that my bed will sit level with it. Are there any diagrams ,dimensions or designs that I could follow .

I don't have it right now but i found a link on Google to someone that wrote a blog post detailing how they made one. Combe Valley Campers I think it is also sell one but for full width.

We're about to need a 3/4 one which I really need to look into properly. Which are you doing?

Thanks ,I'm going for a full width one. I've watched the video of the coombe valley campers one and it is excellent and very well made but think it costs about £340 .

We've just opted for an M1 camper bed instead of a Rusty Lee because we wanted the seatbelts with it... might be worth a look depending on what you're wanting.

Yeah, I've seen that. The £340 seems quite reasonable for a 'plug n play' type thing but appreciate it's a fair amount of money. I'm gutted they didn't do a 3/4 width last time I checked.

Only person I've met who had a rusty said he wouldn't buy one again, saggy mattress support, not very comfortable

I’m intrigued as to why am M1 bed for seatbelts when a t25 has seatbelt mounting points , I can understand in a t4/t5 panel van conversion without any

It was the neatest way to get two three point belts in the back.

I have a full width R&R bed with platform above engine cover.
Please excuse my crude writing on pics.
Hope this may be of some use, if you are handy with a jigsaw. :ok

My Westy has factory 3 point belts with the standard rock n roll bed, having had some involvement in seatbelts, positioning etc, the kind of bed you’re talking about tend to have the shoulder strap position to low which can be lethal , I would be interested to see any details, forces , acceleration figures for the m1 beds that are pull tested

Probably better off talking to Manchester university as they performed the testing , interestingly when looking into this previously Manchester uni were the folks offering the service, maybe it’s their specialty

Looked into m1. Nice products but don't think the t25 bed is pull tested. Others are t4, t5 etc.

Happy to be corrected. Been a while since i checked.

Difficult to get two 3 point seat belts in back with a 3/4er. Don't fancy the belt through a cupboard idea.

That's if you need two 3 pointers in the back.

Devon made a moulded plinth with spaces for leg/table etc. We have a 3/4s one, not sure if they ever made a full width version
