Intermittent Rear Knocking

Hi,
I think this might be my first post in 16 yrs of owning my Holdsworth T25? Bear with me.....

There's a knocking sound from the rear of the vehicle when I change gears. It is a lot worse if I find my tyres are under inflated and is more prominent when decelerating (not braking). T25, 1990. Any ideas what might be going on?

Thanks in advance

exhaust hitting the body work as engine moves because engine mounts or gearbox mount are shot ?

if you get someone to rev it on and off with it in neutral you may see what the problem is

Whilst checking that area I would also have a look at cv joint bolts and rear suspension.

Sounds like this, I've got to replace the gearbox nose mount on mine as the engine wobbles at low rpm and the zaust will tap the body and make a nice clonk clonk sound. Just gotta motivate myself to get under the van in this weather to do it.

Thanks folks for the advice. Shoogling the driveshafts seems to replicate the noise. Been advised to change 'em. Can you recommend a supplier for them of good quality?
Thanks again.

Cv joints are clunky if you give em a jiggle, or mine at at least! Heritage or brickwerks usually best place for cv joints if you wanna replace em. Messy job but its easy enough. Just replace all the bolts as well and think about renewing the gaiters as they might be cracked or even split. Best to do it all in one go and save faffing at a later date.

Brickwerks received a fresh shipment of CVs a couple of weeks ago, been waiting for them since June
