Hi folks, newbie here.

I've got a crew cab doka with the bolt in tub but no rear seat.

I'm planning to fit some modern rear seats but the standard tub really doesn't look up to the job and mounting them to the floor will be far too low.

My plan was to use tourneo connect seats but build and weld in a steel seat box with solid pins to mount them on like in the transit - handy for storage too since the connect seats tip right forward or come out.

Since the existing front seats in a t25 sit on literally a metal box and the existing tub is thin crap, I assumed any gusseted, welded-in structure would be a massive upgrade to what's there but now I'm second guessing myself.

Can anyone share any advice?

Doka shell is very strong, the seat base is just that, it's not structual
Most important thing is that your new seats and belt set up are strong and secure as per their donor vehicle
 

Thanks mate, yeah the body is like a battering ram.

I guess my issue really is that the seat belt receiver is part of the new seat - meaning I need to make sure whatever I mount the seats to is structural.

The original doka seat doesn't take any load from the belt so it doesn't need much to it as the belts are body mounted.

Looking at the pull tested rock n roll beds etc. they all share common diagonal bracing front to back, so I'm thinking as long as my seat box is properly welded to the rear of the cab body and floor and braced properly it will easily be as strong as the transit floor mounts.

if you are getting rid of the original rear seat box ? I would be interested in it.

Is your spare wheel under there?
