I had a similar problem with one of my rear side lights, turned out to be suspect bulb plus dirty contacts, suggest you take the unit out and separate to get access to the contacts, being careful that you don't brake the plastic clips. Clean the contacts with a bit of wet and dry paper or similar and test with a meter. Sometimes the metal contact also do not make proper contact and need to be adjusted, gently.

I have already done the usual clean up and adjusted the contacts, the problem is there’s no power for both rear light now fuses 7,8. Do the front dip and rear light both front dip lights work so I think it may be the light switch, Any one know how to test it.

The only problem with the switch theory, is that if the number plate light works.... and the dash lights work,
Then the "58" contact on the switch should be working.
Check the grey wire between the fusebox connector and the light switch.
Looking at the wiring diagrams, this is the only place that would ONLY affect the side and tail lights.
You mention dip beam, but no mention of front side lights - perhaps you do not have those?
As for fuses.
Dip beams are 21 and 22.
Side and tail are 7 and 8.

I will have a look tomorrow, it is a strange one because the number plate lights work and front side lights

Okay - check list time..
Fuses 7 and 8 are okay.
Instrument cluster lights and heater panel illuminate.
Number plate lights illuminate.
Front side lights / pilot bulbs illuminate
Bulb contacts are clean and dry.
Spade connectors on the back of the clusters are clean, dry and securely attached.
Bulbs are not blown.
Connector pins in one of the round white 7 pin plugs near to the engine bay junction box are clean, dry and securely connected.
Looking at grey/red and grey/black wires.
There are two round 7-pin connectors - one for the engine sensors.
And one for the rear light clusters.
