Hi,
Just been reading about Lanoguard, which I have never heard of. Best thing since sliced bread it will have you believe. What seemed good was that it can be sprayed everywhere. Bit pricey.
Questions. Anyone used it?
                Does anyone use an alternative?
Mainly just interested 'cos underside protection is a good idea but I will never get round to it

During the first lockdown I had a good look underneath my Camper, there were bits that were exposed and other which had remnants of the old original underseal which still looked good, not wishing to wire brush this away I just patched around it with HamMerite and still do from time to time. E D I T, just to add the obvious the area to be protected should be clean otherwise all you do is seal in rust which will just get worse.

I've used lanoguard, after looking for DIY rust protection, that being the only non setting wax oily type you can do yourself in any volume without a compressor. It's a lanolin based thing,. Like fluid film.
It went on easy and quick. Water does indeed bead right off it, and it creeps well. It's been on about 8 months so I can't say how long it will last. I'll be using it again though !

Have read several 'stories' where people have used Waxoyl thinned with white spirit so it goes through a garden pump up sprayer.
The 'authors' were pleased with results. 

I have a compressor but still keep a can of dynax S50 for convenience and ease of use. Large cans with excellent spray output, supplied with an extension nozzle and no need to warm up.

Just bought some lanoguard... I'll let you know how it turns out

I have always used Fluid Film, I know, because it comes from the US, that it is not cheap but it does an excellent job. I used to buy it in gallon cans (also used on boaty things) but there is an army surplus  business in the South West that sells it in big drums for little money. If warmed or diluted slightly it sprays easily, creeps, stays wet etc etc.

Thats what I do. Dilute say 20% the custard is then nice and runny. Use a 2 L sprayer fro Wilko pump plunger on top. Spray it. Leave a few hours, spray again and repeat.

Needs good ventilation mind.

I just done behind the fridge on my westy as I am insulating the whole bus.

Hi boatbuilder, this stuff is ruddy expensive. Have you used it yet?

Usually when things seem to be too good to be true etc.
