Have just put £30 of diesel in my petrol engine. There was about 2/3 galls of petrol in there already. My excuse...the pumps are to close together.
Anyway switched to lpg before starting and drove home so in theory no wrong mixture gone through the system.
Have MoT booked for the morning; probably enough for that, I hope.
What now?  Any idea what these 'wrong fuel companies' charge?

Did something similar to an old petrol Range Rover many years ago. I drained the tank into containers by pulling off the feed to the engine, then absolutely brimmed it with fresh petrol. It smoked a bit but did no harm, my local V8 expert said the devils fuel is only really good as a lubricant so will do the valves a bit of good

You can present your camper for MOT running on LPG. Then at your leisure drain off a few gallons from the tank. Fill it again with petrol and run it for a few weeks/month on petrol. Then keep adding a gallon or so of the petrol/diesel mix without harming your camper.

Last time Maxine put diesel in her petrol car a specialist firm associated with AA charged £130.00

Am I to understand that what I drain off I can gradually use. Take me years as I am nearly always on gas. Just had a thought. No reason why I can't use it in the car. That is petrol and gets filled regularly. Mind you that is a modern engine ie 2018 Golf but assume your theory still holds good.

Better than putting Petrol in a Diesel engine which I have heard is catastrophic if you manage to run it.

Just heard from my Recovery Service. They will pay up to £70 towards the cost someone draining tank. Will have a think.

Disconnect the hose at the fuel tank outlet (OSF feed) and let it drain out, use a syphon if needs be

Or

Run the engine whilst stationary on lpg and disconnect the fuel pump outlet into a catch can and let the engine pump it out for you

20 years ago I did this to a Carlton, roughly 50/50. It was not easy to start but I was advised just to keep it running and add petrol whenever possible. I left a whiteish smokescreen up and down the A6 from Whaley Bridge to Manchester for a while till it cleared...which it did.

I did it the other month. Cost me £220 with the AA! Plus the £20 of diesel I had put in and and an extre £20 of petrol to get me back home. The AA price included £10 worth of petrol to wet the bottom of the tank.

I am not sure diesel would do a catalytic converter any good!
 

Having said that I suppose catalytic converters are fitted to diesels.

Just been chatting to the MoT bloke and telling him my tale of woe. He was not so keen on introducing my diesel/petrol mixture back into the tank when filling [with petrol] He said the diesel floats on top of the petrol and could cause problems. Have to have a think.
Good news. MoT PASS Emission results. CO. Limits 3.5%   Actual 0.1%   HC. Limits 1200ppm  Actual 430ppm. That is on lpg. Quite pleased with that.
Now to think about draining the tank.
 

I would just empty it and refill as you haven’t started it. I drove it a couple of miles so was knackered really.
