Auto gearbox

Hi all, I have a 1989 Caravelle automatic, it has a 1.9 engine, changed from 2.1 before I got it.will it be possible to change the gearbox for a 7 speed auto without too many alterations cheers Mawsy

I have never heard of anyone attempting this. Why would you want 7 gears on a 1.9?

The more modern box for a T25 is the ZF 5HP19 from a Porsche 911. This the original "Tiptronic" box, but still you will need some modifications especially with the engine's ECU.
