1980 T3 1600 ct stalling problems

Hi folks.
My 1600 air cooled ct engine had started to stall under braking and generally not idling very well. Only just developed the stalling under breaking the other day half way in to the journey. Nothing visually obvious but wondered if there were any things I should try first before cleaning and rebuilding the carb.
Cheers

Not an air cooled person but wondering if this is a vacuum issue, guessing that depressing the brake brings the brake servo into play which in turn is linked to the vacuum system possibly linked to the carb, maybe worth a check of the hoses in this area.

Apologise for the late reply. Thanks for the advice, I wondered if it was more of a carb related issue given the age of the old girl.

Just to add, what I mean by under braking what I mean is that when not depressing the throttle o not reviving the engine. And then braking for a junction it will cut out.
Very confused by how this problem can just instantly develop. I am leaning towards idle speed and possibly needing a carb clean and rebuild

Had this problem a few years ago, I think it was a tiny o ring on the mixture screw which had perished.
