Coolant catch 22?

Hi
I've recently found out my coolant temp sensor has gone kaput and have ordered a replacement.

From reading up I will have to refill the coolant and bleed system after replacing the sensor

the catch 22 is none of my heaters or cab fans work and so I will not be able to have them on full hot to bleed system but I can't replace the sensor without then needing to refill coolant.

I was hoping to avoid having to pull the dash and fixing the heater untill after summer but I also don't want to cook the engine.

Any ideas? It's 1.6td jx

When bleeding I just put the controls onto hot. My blower hasn’t worked for 8 years and I have bled the van a fair few times without any mither.

Yes its correct, I bleed my system quite happily for a couple of years with no working blower when I first got my van.

you're unlikely to get a significant amount of air into the system swapping the switch, keep the header tank cap on, get all the tools and parts you need and swap it over quickly, no need to the drain the system

Just swapped out the sensor and it's working great. Lot less coolant came out than I was expecting maybe a shot glass worth?

Thanks for all the help and calming my fears!
