Looking for the female plug that goes onto the round 2-pin temperature sensor. Currently have 2 spade connectors on the wires which are quite loose but would be nice to switch back to the correct plug instead of crimping new spades on.

Anyone know what it's called to search for? Tried various things without any joy.

Brickwerks refer to them as "them funny ones" but only stock the rubber boot.

Perhaps easier to convert to the more common rectangular "junior timer" switches and connectors?

Part numbers beginning 191 are Golf mk2 (type 19x) so I'd follow that line of enquiry.

Typically I've just filled up with fresh coolant after having the engine out to drill out and retap some exhaust studs. I'll likely go with spades for now and switch to what ajsimmo suggests on next coolant change.

In the meantime, I guess I'll keep searching around for the D-shaped plug.

Seems I've got a pinhole leak in the water pump so I can swap out the temp sensor after all. Will switch to the junior timer one suggested.

New water pump and connectors all ordered up from brickwerks
