Hi
I am after some advice on which parts to replace as a starter regarding gear selection problems, finding first gear proves very difficult and it easily slips in to reverse without seeming to move the gear stick a fraction, second gear can also be a struggle. Do I order the full linkage repair kit or as a starter replace the gear stick selector parts? It is a 4 speed diesel, Many thanks Gary

inspect it all first, front to back, see what has worn, could be the guides, could be the bushes, could be the stick mechanism or it could just be a set up issue, but it is likely to be a combination of things.

You can get a whole linkage refresh kit from various retailers. Has everything from the selector cup to the UJs - you could buy one of those and fire the parts cannon at it - or (as above!) have a good old look and see what's wobbly.

Could, of course, still be a setup issue.

Search Gear Linkage Repair Kit - T3 and see what you find!

Try adjusting the linkage first. The linkage parts that wear aren't too expensive or difficult to replace either. Don't spend money and stress if you don't need to! 🙂

Agreed. Try this with a helper.
