Have painted over for time being.
Need to buy an air grinder kit to get in at awkward areas.

Did a cracking job, literally ,look at where my finger is pointing ,( not the black line, that's my telephone wire)
Thank you multisi, didnt know about using flexible sealant.
Going up to JK's for replacement tomorrow so will use sealant next week.
All part of learning curve.

Do you have windscreen cover on your insurance? May workout cheaper and a professional will have the proper sealant plus if they brake it it’s down to them.
ps nice repair and paint job

Why do you need flexible sealant? I am interested as I need to put my windscreen back in soon. I had a replacement professionally fitted a while ago and there was no sealant used??

A new seal doesnt mean it will be leak free especially if the bottom corners have been repaired, it can be messy but worth the extra effort.

Thank you all for comments.
Have picked up windscreen and want to do what's best.
Question is what sealant should I use and where/how to apply it.
In glass slot,
In frame,
Or both
Plus before or after installing
If after installation, from inside or outside ?
Went in easy with rope trick and silicone lubrication just hit it too hard when settling it.
Good luck to all fitting theirs, hope this post is of use.

I used 3M sealant about 30 years ago, flexible black stuff can be cleaned up with white spirit. The one they do now is 08509. It needs to seal the outer fame to rubber area.

Done
Took split screen out
,used kids wooden clay tools from some shops art depot, peeling and tucking from inside
Then placed new windscreen in frame with rope trick.
Did think about just kicking it out, like the movies but probably would have damaged the new rubber and front of bus.
In all took about one and half hours

Yep did mine too recently, old seal out, repaired rust holes, filled and painted to a smooth surface, new seal (VEWIB) etc...
...rain came today and it leaks worse than ever
My plan is to get some Arbomast into the body to glass seal. I'm trying to avoid taking the screen out again, so thinking of squeezing the sealant in under the seal whilst it's fitted.
Somewhat disheartening when all the effort makes the problem worse

And this is why i tell people to install with flexible windscreen sealant !
