Could anyone help please either recommend a mobile mechanic near chilton durham who could set timing on 2.0 Aircooled t3 or any club member who could help. Ive fitted a motor new clutch full service kit engine runs and drives short distance but needs timing setting. Any help appreciated Graeme

You could try lvh engines and see if he will come out to you?
I've got my 1.6td booked in next week for setting the timing with him but not sure if he goes out to people.
Pain in the a*** trying to find a garage to work on timing in the North East I tried a few places and they all said no and couldn't recommend any other places!

On a petrol I'd suggest giving it a go - £25 for a timing light and you're away. Its only a case of lining up up some marks whilst twiddling the distributor.
Happy to write more detailed advice if you fancy a go?
