She was running when parked up a year ago however was becoming difficult to start, now she turns over and chuffs a lot of smoke but doesn't catch.
We've changed the fuel filter and run a hose directly from the pump to a can of fresh diesel so confident the pump is getting fuel.
We've disconnected the connector on the back of the head for glow plug relay and check glow plugs are getting 12+ volts.

Looking for advice as we're not sure where's best to go next as unfamiliar with old diesels.

If you have enough compression and fuel injected at the right time on each cylinder it sould start even if it runs rough later.

Probably your injectors or delivery valves stuck.
Water in the diesel can cause rust.
Crack the lines at the injectors to see if all get fuel while cranking. If one of them is dry the the delivery valve is stuck.
Try to use some injector cleaner (kerosene) to run through the pump.
Liqui moly has some stuff you can run the engine on it.

Getting 12V at the connector does not mean the glow plugs are working, may worth to pull and test them out of the engine. Depends on their age maybe worth changing them anyways
