LDA linkage /pump shaft

1.6 JX std fuel pump. I have fuel leaking from the fuel pump at the LDA pump shaft. I attempted to remove the 6mm nut from the protruding shaft . While attempting the nut removal it had “shear” potential (I had carried out research) with a little finesse I ground away a side of the nut and managed to mole grip nut remains And remove the nut / LDA plate . I have replaced the shaft seal/o ring . My question is Two fold ... on reassembly the shaft does not seam to have any resistance when Being rotated .. is it possible for the Vertical shaft To release from the internal workings ? .. and secondly where can I purchase a replacement 6 mm nut with built in washer at the base.
