mmmmm servo question

the servo has gone on my 1987 td it hisses when I press the peddle then the pedal goes hardanyway will a servo from an early Aircooled T25 fit or is it a case of buying a new one or has anyone got one I can buy
ps I know its a tart of a job but any info will be gratefully recieved
