Can anyone confirm that at the steering wheel end of things , with things dismantled , should I have 12v at the black connector with a brown/ blue wire?
This connects to the spring connector that makes contact with the ring around the base of the steering wheel .
ThanksImage
With the ignition on .

There should be a ground wire attached to the bottom of the steering rack. Clean it and check again it's what caught me put when mine stopped working.

Earths all checked out ok as far as I can make out. No 12v anywhere.
I'm wanting to know if 12v should be picked up on the horn ring. If not , where should I be getting 12v in the circuit?.

12v going to the horn. Ground from horn to steering wheel then via earth wire at bottom of steering column.

Ok thanks oldie, no wonder I cant find 12v anywhere up there then . So I should have 12 v on one of the connectors down at the horn then . Is that right? Sorry for sounding like a plank.

At the horn you should have 12v on one terminal, the other is the earth that runs to the steering wheel etc.

There appears to be a break somewhere between the very bottom earth connection of the column and the horn . How does the earth from the horn actually connect through to the column .Image
