just had a pair of new 205/70/14 tyres on the front of my westie hi-top. When i got the tracking sorted by another place they told me that the tyres were wrong as they weren't reinforced.

The tyre man has now assured be that it's not a problem as a camper isn't a commercial vehicle.

Anybody here got an opinion on this?

Keith

P.S. the tyres that came off the van were reinforced

It has nothing to do with if its a comercial vehicle or not, the tyres must be able to carry the load placed on them..
VW recomend a reinforced in 205/70, which prob means a load rating of 97. what rating do the tyres he fitted have?

blokes bullshitting you, its still based on a\comercial vehicle, tyres should be reinforced or comercial, it even says so on the plate near the footwell 185 14 c the c being comercial

thanks for the replies.

the tyres have a load rating of 690kg stamped on them but i can't see 'commercial' stamped anywhere on them although 'C09' is.

cheers
