Aircooled exhaust replacement

Hi

With my engine out in the floor I have decided that I am going to remove the heat excahangers. They work fine but I think they are too old and dangerous a system to use as heating up the cabin. (One too many sleepy road trips in the rain)

Does anyone have any recommendations for an exhaust. Looking to put J tunes out and find some for of wxhaust that might actually help improve performance of the engine.

Thanks!

Full stainless speedworks on my 2.0CU running twin webers, sounds great and seems to have improved torque from lower down.

Good luck as they are not a cheap add on

For your J tubes headers, take a look at these:

As for the exhaust, I went for the the twin GT one from JK, but there's other options around.

Thanks for the help.

Very expensive for the JTubes.

I have a standard exhaust. I presume it would still attach to these J tubes if I got them?

Thanks,

You hardly took a picture of your setup?

In what way will this effect the cooling tins?

When you remove the heat exchangers the hot air from the tubes goes straight up to your rocker covers.
I made some heat shields that fit between.
Not sure if there is an off the shelf solution.
The other drawback is heating.
I use a webasto.

Okay thanks I forgot about that.

I still think theres a benefit in getting rid of them for safety and for improved flow of air in the exhaust itself.

Have you noticed and positive difference in power output?

Not sure about power difference. Only ran this engine with this set up never tried the heat exchangers.
