Are the rear hub nuts (46.mm) handed?

Agreed but you need a beefy (six flat) socket and torque wrench if available but in lieu of the wrench I used a short length of scaffold pole and calculated where I would have to stand on it to apply the correct torque value. I found the torque value challenging and understand your need for reassurance as to the handedness of the thread. Getting it wrong would be disastrous
.
One of mine wouldn't loosen and when I got it started it fought me all the way to the end. The PO had got it on cross threaded so I finished up sourcing another hub.
Good luck with it anyway.
BTW if you are changing the bearings due to an MOT failure due to play unless it is really really bad your MOT man may be unaware that the play is designed in so as to achieve correct spec when hot. This will explain all:

They’re super tight , lubricated mine snapped my bar... had to borrow 3/4 3 foot knuckle bar and stand on it... eventually came off.
Good write up in wiki section brake backplate
Good luck

These and a club hammer are pretty good if you're struggling.
Saves snapping breaker bars

Looks good to me for getting it loose but wondering about viability of use in the torquing up scenario.
Just thinking about the torque multiplication resulting from the increase in radius if plugging torque wrench into square hole with spanner and wrench in line. Probably not as simple as at first glance

- must ponder...

Have you got a torque wrench that goes to 360ft/lbs?
In practice I just tighten as much as I can then fit the pin which generally involves trying to tighten it another 10 degrees as the holes never line up
