rear springs - bump stop/spring top locator

long-time lurker/first poster wanting some advice before heading to a mechanic!

regarding the rear spring top locator (perch?) - the metal tube that the rubber bump stop fits into... here picture (from youtube) to confirm which bit i'm talking about.

Image metal tube with rubber bump stop on end
on my camper the metal tube has come away and the rubber bump stop is missing. My question is... How is the metal tube attached? Looks like it needs to be spot welded back in place? Should this be a big job (ie, expensive) for my garage to do?

any advice very welcome! thanks, Kev

its welded, if its fallen off due to rot, which it probably has, it could be any amount of money, but i would say £2-500 should cover it

OK, all sorted. Local garage (DC Dodd, Leytonstone) spot welded tube back in place, all metal in good order fortunately. Got them to pop the nearside rear spring out and put a new rubber bump stop on whilst they were at it. Welding and labour £100 all in plus £14 i'd paid for the stops (Brickwerks inc postage). Thanks again (davidoft1)
