So I have replaced the two rubber steering joint couplings under my van. The one attachef to the steering column, once the bolts were out I had to use a hammer to tap it off the splines. Reassembled it all and now there appears to be a clunk when turning stationary, mainly when steering to the right. It will clunk but steers fine but worried now that the rack has had it. Any ideas?

When I am under the van and an assistant turns the steering half a turn left and right I can feel a clonk coming from the rack. As its a rack and pinion I am thinking one of the teeth of the pinion wheel is damaged. Anyone ever disassembled one of these to look?
