Last panel I need to replace on my van to complete my restoration. As my radiator has corroded through I thought I may as well do this as the radiator needs to come out for it anyway. Didnt do it originally as just wanted to get the van on the road but hate how crusty its looking now. Anyone got any tips for me in replacing this panel? Or even better pictures too

So I have nearly finished removing all the remnants of the panel. I am just cleaning up the rust on the box section that the panel spot welds to. How far do you need to go with the rust removal as its quite pitted and I dont want to keep flap disking the area until it gets too thin? Is it ok to have a few pitted areas before treating the areas to be welded with copper weld through primer?
