Stripping off

Trying to get the strips off the side of Danbury,
they are plastic stick ons and I am using heat gently.
But it leaves the glue which is really tough to remove,
think I have tried most solvents except nail varnish remover.
Petrol wasnt too bad but I may have to resort to stainless scourer,
along with petrol, and that will make a meal of it.
Anyone got a good idea I may not have thought of?

I haven't got anything as modern as a credit card - will my debit card do? PIN is ****.

windscreen de-icer is quite a decent vinyl glue solvent
I used tar spot remover when taking off the decals from an autohomes, it was a very tedious process, heat got the majority of the stripes off but at the edges where it had previously lifted or been damaged when cleaning vehicle it was hard and black but the tar remover did a good job, then whole panels polished to blend the contrasting paint shades

Ebay... 4” rubber wheel sticker/decal removal tool. Soft rubber wheel that fits in your drill. Seems like a strange concept but they actually work really well and need no solvent!

Seems full of tedious processes these days,
so much carpet peeling off, leaving foam and glue..
Theres another thing to strip off,
been using the wire brush on drill for that so far so good,
it doesnt remove it all, but it seems to leave a reasonable surface to glue to.
Thanks for the suggestions I will try them

Tar remover works well.

I get around to things slowly..
the rubber wheel has not arrived yet,
but the acetone did..
Worth noting that I havent yet found gloves it doesnt dissolve!
So I found that there are two kinds of stripes on the van,
guess that some got replaced, accident/respray whatever..
The original ones if picked at carefully can peel off clean,
leaving a little glue residue that comes off with acetone.
(or maybe other not quite so aggressive solvents)
The newer stripes are a crazy mix of paint first underneath,
then a clear plastic, then plastic pinstripes.
Bet it was hard to match the old ones!
Anyhow this is harder to remove, it wont peel hardly at all,
then there are layers, and finally the paint.
I might have left it on but its strange, smears easily with solvent,
like it never really dried properly or something.
I might not want to just paint over that.
So its taken quite a while and a few gloves and rags.
Most of the way through a litre of acetone.
I have ordered some "solvent gloves" and will try them belatedly,
and I am really interested to try this rubber eraser wheel.
I'll be peeling the Danbury and Syncro stickers off later,
they look even harder, but maybe easy I dont know, ...transfers.
