Are steering relay boxes repairable?
Mine developed a small knock and a little play after 495000kms.

I had a minor knock from the steering box a couple of weeks ago then I lost all steering (the day after the knock started), Luckily I was just doing a u-turn at the time. I got one from Aidan and went to fit it. Turns out the bolt on the UJ at the bottom of the column was the wrong type (standard M8 rather than shouldered) and the UJ wasn't gripping the relay box shaft. I only found this when I stripped it as I didn't look properly when it happened. I just saw the UJ was turning and there was no output so assumed it was the box. Thought I'd mention it as it might be worth a quick check on the bolts.

Thanks Dobble. I have manual steering with rubber joint plates. Checked the those visually. No problem there. I feel the play/knock when I put my hands on the box, but will check the bots too.
