do watercooled engines have buzzer for oil pressure if so hod do i check it works ?

Yes they do but why do you want to check it? Is your oil light on? Not sure how to check it though.

1985 I think... My early '85 with ceramic fuses doesn't seem to have t'buzzer. Probably came in with them there posh electrics?

My Aircooled 2 litre only has a simple oil pressure warning switch and red dash light - no buzzer.
I've added oil pressure and temp gauges myself.

That would be correct, but I thought pre 85 vans didnt have watercooled engines either anyway? (I know Im probably wrong on that)

First watercooled engine would be Feb 1981!!
The water-boxer didn't show up 'till October of that year though

There are also some 1984 'A' reg. air cooled T25s around, first registered some 2 1/2 years after the water boxer made its first appearance.

The crossover period lasted for several years.
