Vehicle VW T25/3 air-cooled 2.0 CU they have a long return spring at the end of the throttle cable. This spring then goes to a bracket on the body of the vehicle. Mine is missing. Recently bought the van trying to iron out some of the bodges. Does anyone know where to buy this spring from, tried the obvious places already.

Had the same issue.
I used one for mk2 jaguar that I found on ebay.
Works fine.

Does anyone have the bracket for sale or would it be easier to try make one up?

I think the spring goes onto a bracket on the engine, rather than the body
Have a look here

Can't believe how botched my linkage is.

I think I need to spend a bot of time to get it right.

Would anyone be able to get the measurement of that bracket so I can try make something up?Image

Hello,

The bracket is indeed on the turbine casing.

It usually gets destroyed when the engine is removed, as it catches on the bodywork. Detach before dropping the motor.

I may have 1 in stock, but it is nothing special.

The spring does not need to be too strong, as the springs on the carb should always be able to close the butterfly.

Also,as far as I understand it, the spring is only there to pull on the end of the cable.
This allows the cable to return regardless of the arm position.
