Hi chaps,

This one is doing my head in now.

There is a loud creaking noise when the front suspension is moving. Being underneath its impossible to pin point. So I went with what I thought it could be.

I've replaced bottom tca bushes with polyurethane. Noise still there.
I've replaced the nsf top suspension arm with the bushes. Noise still there.

The noise sounds like it's the nsf but I've now ran out of ideas, k
Help please. I'll send you a 24 pack of tiolet roll!

If you suspect it's bushes, douse them with some lube spray of your choice and see if it quietens for a bit. Often does, do might narrow your search down. Just do one bush at a time so you know! Upper control arm bushes are v squeaky when they fail!

I have done all the bushes numerous times and it doesn't change.

Or could try detaching the anti roll bar from the wishbones temporarily and see if it's that, if it's driving you bonkers

I like the sound of the rollbar. Gonna have a lot of time on my hands so I'll disconnect and see what happens.

Maybe the roll bar connecting link has snapped but is still sitting in place, this happened on an early van I had many years ago.

Yeah! I had that too.. though was a clonking crunch sound

The radius arm bushes are known to creak.

Now I'm getting really annoyed

Changed and upgraded the rollbar bushes to polyurethane. Still bloody creaking.

I've backed off the track control arms and still creaking, it sounds like it's getting worse.

So far I have replaced rollbar bushes, bottom tc bushes, replaced full ns upper arm. I have 2 shockers on order. The sound to me sounds very central and nearly impossible to replicate unless driving.

Im getting close to torching the love of my life lol

Can you upload sound clips on here? Maybe no use but clutching at straws and all the feedback is greatly appreciated

Ok. 2 new shocks fitted. Still got the noise.

As much as it's frustrating me Rusty is driving like on air. My point being if you have some spare cash I would recommend slowly upgrading or replacing old bushes / shocks that could be 30 years old.

The van is very smooth now and I'm really surprised in the transformation....but I still have this noise which is louder than a ACDC live. Really baffling.

Ignore this if you've already checked but could it be the spare carrier? Try without the weight of the spare?

Check the top wishbones aren't done up to tight, mine on one side was cranked up so tight I couldn't move it by hand. Only the weight of the van moved it and it was very creaky
