Devon rear cupboard door

Has anyone replaced their rear Devon "wardrobe" cupboard door with something more practical.
I find it a pain that you can't open the door when the bed and bedding is in position.
I was thinking of some kind off split or sliding/rollup door, but haven't managed to find anything suitable.

Thats a good idea. I have the same issue. Currently tidying up the interior. Did you come up with any clever design ideas?

Tambour door would be ideal I would say , pretty cheap, easy to fit clean modern etc

I haven't come up with a solution yet. I did think about tambour doors, and that may be the best solution. My reservation on that is A) it would leave the edge of the opening visible (which is not terribly neat) and I can't think of an elegant way to neaten it up, and B) I would need to reconfigure what I've already done interally, as shown in these pictures.

That looks tidy. Good job. But are you planning on taking the door off now?

Hi Magicwagon

How about moving the fixings from the side to top and bottom, so the door lifts up and off rather than swings. Can open while sitting in bed, and will look the same when closed.

I have already taken the door off, I wasn't sure whether to put it back on or put something there to stop the baskets sliding out (maybe a lip on the shelves).
I like the idea of having it lift off rather than swinging open, but that first link above makes me think about whether it could slide forward on two of those, one at the top and one at the bottom. I need to take a closer look and have a bit of a think about that. Cheers.
