Fantastic Picture Russel. You should do a calendar.
Just out of curiosity how much does one budget for an adventure like this (excluding the kings ransom you spent on the Syncro)?
Can you give us a break down?
inspirational!

Was it as easy as you made it look?
Have you done this kind of thing much before?
Any scary moments, knife wielding bandits or anything?
Brilliant I reckon, well done.

I'd say, most expensive items were:
1) Ferries
2) Fuel
3) Food
So, to budget, figure out our ferries, work out the mileage then allow, say between £2-£20 for food each day, depending upon how you eat etc. Other additional costs are Insurance and bribes for policemen...

Did we make it look easy? I think it was a real mixed bag, there were some hard bits. Stressful bits, a few fraid tempers (from everyone). We all slept with some kind of weapon close to hand overnight (Small Axe is good as it is small enough to swing in a van). Definately feels alot safer parking up and travelling in a group, especially 3+ as you can arrange yourselves overnight.
I'd say, thinking back, that there weren't really any scary moments, i.e. fear of attack etc. There were a couple of places where we felt unsafe, so rather than risk it, we moved on. Most of just seemed to be that age old common sense, I'm sure Russel or Andrew will comment further.
p.s. If you ply Russel with Guinness at Coney farm and I'm sure he'll bore you senseless
